Competencies were done

On February 25-27 i had been busy with the majority competency tests. I was really afraid facing this moment. But no matter what, taking pictures can help me to cure the nervousness :)

First day is tour planning
we here pretending as the real tour planner. tour planner is someone who gives service to arrange somebody / groups who want to travel to some place.
this is the very hard one. because i often failed at this subject. we have to be really careful from making the itinerary/schedule and until pricing section!!! and also the brochure, everything should be correct and make sense.

How it goes?
first we'll get the assessment papers and the forms (distribution of time, the itinerary form, tour program, tour quotation sheet, tour pricing, tour include and exclude) after that read it carefully. mark every important request thingy  (such as: they need 14 double deluxe bed, what for meals, etc)
Then just arrange what they want. put it in the tour program form. tour program form contains

• who reserved it
• contact person
• what kind of tour will be
• how many passenger 
• the requests
• the tourism object & attraction
• the accommodation
• transportation

after all, we just continue to make distribution of time. write down every places we go. and the duration also. for example: airport-hotel onboard: 90' tour: - rest: 10' total: 100' time: 09.00-10.40

then after knowing the time, we putted it on itinerary. write every places we go with the description of those place. in order to make them know, what can they see in that place

after all arranged, calculate the prices and separate them to fixed cost and variable cost. fixed is for the group. and variable is for each person. the prices are mentioned in the assessment paper. each of them have their own note, about the agent discount or comission so read it carefully. 

and the last is making brochure. using the microsoft office publisher. after it got finished, it should be printed. The brochure should contain

• name of tour
• name of travel + contact person
• price
• itinerary
• description
• should be interesting

Second day is reservation & ticketing
it is like become as ticketing  staff at travel agency
first we will have a short conversation to the assessor. where to go, any stop over, whats is the special request, whats the name of passanger, looking for the schedule,  the day of traveling, how much the price. oh my god i almost didn't make it. about an hour before the test, i got tutored by sindy (my classmate) every was totally incorrect.

Last day is tour guiding

this is kind of my favorite but sometimes, it get suck when it comes to be hard to memorize the history. this competency divided into two, Passing side at bus or local guide at National Museum of Indonesia. I got as local guide on level 1 new building museum. The assessor are the senior tour guide, Mrs Evelyn and Mr. Katamsi. They both quite old enough. My class (3 UPW2) got Mrs Evelyn as the assessor. Shes look like with Queen Elizabeth, lol. I can say she's still pretty in her age, she's very kind and lovely like my late grandmother.
I have observed for about 2 times visiting the museum. i took pictures of every short description on each things. Can you believe that i got measles at that time!!! actually i shouldn't had been gone to anywhere. But thanks god everything goes well

On Friday, March 1st my teacher announced the scores of the competency
for tour guide i got 85!!!
for tour plan i pass!!! and no need to reassessment (some of my friends got it)
for reservation...............idk they don't inform us.

thank god for everything, i'm very satisfied. i hope the rest of examination will get better & be the best. wish me luck everybody^^
